When people hear the word negotiation, they think of lawyers in courtrooms, politicians at global summits, or union leaders across the table from executives. The truth is simpler—and far more personal. We all negotiate every day. We negotiate responsibilities, deadlines, expectations, resources, compensation, visibility, priorities, and influence. Most of these moments don’t feel like “formal negotiations,” so we underestimate them. And that’s where opportunity gets left on the table. How many promotions, projects, contracts, or perks never happen—not because someone wasn’t qualified—but because they never negotiated for them? The challenge isn’t ambition. It’s intention. Negotiation isn’t something you either have or don’t have. Like leadership and communication, it’s a skill that must be developed deliberately. To succeed as a negotiator—and to have people want to keep negotiating with you—you need more than confidence or tactics. Effective negotiators consistently do three things: 1.They lead with character Trust is the real currency of negotiation. Without it, even strong positions collapse. 2. They pursue win-win outcomes Sustainable success is built on mutual value, not short-term victories. 3. They negotiate intentionally, not emotionally Preparation, clarity, and purpose outperform pressure and posturing every time. Negotiation isn’t about taking more. It’s about creating better outcomes—for everyone involved. And like every advanced leadership skill, it must be practiced with intention. If negotiation plays a role in your leadership, career, or organization, it’s time to stop leaving results to chance—and start mastering the skill. #NegotiationSkills #LeadershipDevelopment #AdvancedCommunication #InfluenceAndImpact #ProfessionalGrowth #ExecutivePresence #SoftSkills #PeopleLeadership...

Feedback that creates change is an advanced communication skill. As leaders grow, the way they give and receive feedback must evolve too. What worked early in your career won’t always work when you’re leading diverse teams, peers, senior leaders, and stakeholders. At higher levels of leadership, feedback isn’t...

Many professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs still underestimate the power and effects of soft skills—and it’s costing them more than they realize. I had a great live conversation with the host of Hardcore Soft Skills podcast Yadira (Yadi) Caro on why soft skills are often dismissed, which...

Most businesses don’t fail because of lack of effort. They fail because of fragmentation. ✔️ Website on one platform ✔️ Funnels on another ✔️ Email somewhere else ✔️ Calendars, chat, reviews, and SMS disconnected ✔️ AI tools layered on top without a system This creates: ✔️ Higher costs ✔️ Data leaks and lost leads ✔️...

Most organizations don’t struggle because they can’t grow. They struggle because growth exposes what wasn’t designed to carry it. In this edition LinkedIn newsletter, I unpack a simple but often overlooked idea: Scale is not a phase. It’s a design mindset. The article explores: 1. Why growth amplifies weak...
