20 Sep From Diaspora Dreams to U.S. Business Ownership
Pathways for Ethiopians to Invest, Buy, and Build in America
What if the next chapter of the Ethiopian diaspora story wasn’t just about working hard, but about building ownership, wealth, and legacy?
That’s the vision behind the upcoming webinar organized by Your Ethiopian Professionals Network (YEP): From Diaspora Dreams to U.S. Business Ownership. Together, we’ll explore how Ethiopians in the U.S. and Ethiopia can tap into business opportunities, creative financing, and investor visas to secure growth and create generational impact.
I’ve been connected with YEP since its early days and have spoken at several of their events. Each time, I’ve seen how this community inspires professionals and entrepreneurs to dream bigger. That’s why I’m excited to join once again and contribute to YEP’s golden mission of empowering Ethiopians in the diaspora and back home in Ethiopia.
As someone who has worked in both leadership development through The A to Z Institute and business brokerage through eXp Commercial, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to move from ideas to investments and from hustle to sustainable growth. Beyond my own work, I’ve studied the journeys of successful Ethiopians in the diaspora and engaged with many entrepreneurs and investors in our community and beyond. Their stories, combined with my professional experience, shape the insights I’ll be sharing.
This isn’t theory. It’s about real, practical pathways the diaspora can use right now to build businesses, secure visas, and expand leadership influence in the U.S. and beyond.
What You’ll Learn
Instead of generalities, we’ll go straight into the strategies that work:
-
Smart Ownership: Why buying an existing U.S. business can be a faster and safer path than starting from scratch.
-
Creative Financing: How to secure deals through SBA loans, seller financing, and partnerships — even without millions in the bank.
-
Investor Visas: What you need to know about E-2, EB-5, and other visa pathways that link business ownership with residency.
-
Leadership & Legacy: How to think beyond survival — adopting a global mindset that builds wealth, influence, and generational impact.
Why This Matters
For too long, many in our diaspora have settled for survival. But the stories are changing. Ethiopians across the U.S. are buying businesses, securing visas, and leaving legacies.
This conversation is about equipping you to do the same.
By the end, you’ll be ready to:
✅ Enter U.S. business ownership with confidence
✅ Finance a deal creatively — without needing all cash upfront
✅ Gain clarity on investor visa options
✅ Think and act like a leader who builds generational impact
