14 Jan Practicing Presentation Makes Progress
Day 2 of the 2-day Presentation Skills webinar.
Even if you’re not part of the program, I want to share what truly separates good speakers from consistently great ones: Deliberate practice. Not just practicing more—but practicing intentionally and smartly.
In every webinar, workshop, and coaching engagement, I remind participants of this: Even after 2 decades of speaking… Even after training and coaching professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders for years, I still:
1. Record my own presentations from time to time.
2. Watch them critically.
3. Work on advanced speaking competencies.
4. Read, study, and practice—while helping others do the same.
Why?
Because no one ever retires from improving their public speaking.
Even when:
a. You no longer feel nervous
b. People tell you you’re a great speaker
c. You’re already “good enough”
d. Growth doesn’t stop unless you decide it does.
The formula is simple: Practice wherever you can.
Use every opportunity to sharpen a skill that gives you leverage.
Record what you deliver whenever possible.
Critique with honesty and intention.
And when you can, invest in coaching or mentoring.
That’s how skill compounds.
What’s one way you intentionally work on your speaking—especially when no one is watching?
