Name and Logo of the Amharic Show

The ball is rolling forward. Two milestones have been accomplished so far:

  1. Name: The name of the Amharic show is Sunrise (Goh Siqed). More to come about the meaning of the name.
  2. Logo: The logo is out and attached here.

The logo’s orange color represents:

  1. Optimism,
  2. Enthusiasm, and
  3. Abundance.

The blue color of the sky and ocean embodies:

  1. Openness,
  2. Imagination, and
  3. Inspiration.

We will release an introduction video soon that explains the main characteristics of the show, such as:

  • The mission of the show,
  • Target audience,
  • Potential themes and topics that will be covered,
  • Principles and values that govern the platform,
  • The show’s format, tone, style, and so on.

At this stage, before we launch the show formally, we’re doing some background work such as:

  1. Debating whether we should promote the show by organizing a few public events before launching it. This isn’t my original idea. Since I know the time, energy, and logistics it takes to arrange public events, I was very skeptical when a friend suggested it. But I’m open to it if we’re able to recruit an experienced event organizer (s) to join this project for a win-win partnership.
  2. Evaluating whether the show should be a) in a studio, b) in the office of our guests, or c) virtual. There are some challenges to considering the first two options. One of the strongest reasons is that not all our prospective interviewees will be in the DMV area. We’ll have guests from other States in the US and other Continents, including Ethiopia. At this point, doing it virtually has more than a 50% chance of materializing. We’ll see… If we go for virtual, whether it should be live or recorded is the next question we should address.
  3. Recruiting potential co-hosts. I don’t want this show solely dependent on one person’s knowledge, style, and experience. I need co-hosts who can complement my limitations. Thus far, I’ve approached a few potential co-hosts in fields I don’t have educational and/or work experience. I got mixed responses: Yes, Maybe, and No.
  4. Approaching potential strategic partners (those who join the team at some capacities and contribute something in kind) and sponsors (those who support the show financially) to work together in a win-win partnership. We’re looking for those who share our mission to join hands with us to make this project successful. Let’s work together and meet our common goals while serving the greater good. We can combine our unique strengths to serve our community with world-class excellence.
  5. Identifying potential guests for the first few episodes. We’re looking to interview successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in various fields. This platform brings Ethiopians and non-Ethiopians who understand and speak Amharic to share their stories, insights, approaches, strategies, and wisdom that enabled them to succeed.

If you have any advice, suggestions, and recommendations before the official launch, please share. We’d love to hear your thoughts and incorporate them.

If you want to partner with or sponsor the show, don’t hesitate to contact us offline. We’d also appreciate it if you could suggest potential partners and sponsors within your circle.

Thanks in advance!
