29 Jan Building Trust to Take Your Team to the Next Level QUICKLY
I enjoyed yesterday’s team-building session with a senior leadership group. They were very engaging and committed to quickly translating the learning into results and taking their team to the next level.
One of the discussion points we had was the importance of TRUST…
If you invite me to help your team develop clear goals, I can do it in a few hours max. If your team has been struggling because of a lack of communication, miscommunications, or communication breakdowns, I can help you fix it within a day or two.
But, if there is a lack of or eroded trust, I may need weeks, if not months. Even then, there is no guarantee that your team will be able to generate or regenerate trust.

From 1 to 10, 10 being 100% trust among team members, how do you rate your current team’s trust level? What should you be doing to increase the trust level?
Let me tell you one simple truth many of us may not pay closer attention to. Most of us believe, rightfully, that we’re trustworthy and have the best interests of others in our hearts. And therefore, we expect, consciously or unconsciously, others to earn our trust. As a result, generating trust is delayed- Someone waiting for another to earn their trust. A vicious circle!
Trust is a two-way street. If you’re especially a leader, give trust first. It is human psychology. Others will reciprocate…
