Many people, at least subconsciously, believe that they’re not negotiators. They presume that only lawyers, politicians, and union leaders are negotiators.
You may ask, What if your assertion is true? Well, if someone doesn’t consciously believe and engage in small and big negotiations, they’re leaving a lot of stuff of their own on the ‘negotiation table.’ They’re losing without even knowing it and on a consistent basis!
Everyone is a negotiator, whether they would like to admit it or not. We all negotiate throughout the week, if not the whole day.
What is more? Everything is negotiable! Of course, except for our non-negotiable values as individuals, teams, or organizations.
The question isn’t whether one is a negotiator or not. The REAL question any professional, leader, or entrepreneur should ask is how to negotiate like a pro and get what he or she deserves, whether it’s a raise, promotion, project, or a deal they’ve been dreaming about. They’re a negotiation away from getting what they DESERVE and SOONER…
